5th Grade Sendoff Plans Send off (similar to graduation) for 5th Grade students. Coordinates the activities, gifts and food associated with the sendoff. Event held in May. Contact Principal. Time commitment:This position requires 5 - 8 hours in May.


Box Tops/Tyson/Labels 4 Education Sends out reminders to save Box Tops, Tyson and Labels 4 Education. Chair sends out flyers to encourage sign-up for bonus cards and helps decide how the earnings will be spent in the school. Chair collects items and mails them in to get cash for the school. Time commitment: This position requires 1 hour per month.

 

Christmas Luncheon Plans Christmas Luncheon for Teachers and Staff. Coordinates the activities associated with the luncheon. Time commitment:This position requires 10 hours mostly in November/December

Fall Festival Coordinator Coordinates and is responsible for the overall planning of Fall Festival and reports to PTA on status. Works with other Fall Festival chairs to ensure that that all parts work together to conduct a successful event. Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 30 hours in the 4 weeks prior to the event.


Fall Festival Decorations Chair Works with Fall Festival Coordinator. Decorates outside entrance, hallways, etc. for Fall Festival. Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment 5-7 hours before festival.

 

Fall Festival Donations Chair Works with Fall Festival Coordinator. Looks for sponsors and donors in the community who might help the school either financially or with donations of food or prizes for Fall Festival. Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 10 hours in the 4 weeks prior to the event.


Fall Festival Game Chair Works with Fall Festival Coordinator. Plans, organizes, sets up, and plans staffing for games at Fall Festival. Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 10 hours in the week of the event including setup and management of games.

 

Fall Festival Publicity Chair Works with Fall Festival Coordinator. Designs and coordinates internal and external advertisement for Fall Festival Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 10 hour in the 2-3 weeks prior to the event.

 

Fall Festival Silent Auction Chair Works with Fall Festival Coordinator. Coordinates Silent Auction at Fall Festival Fall Festival is mid October to November. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 10 hours in the week of the event including setup and management of the auction


Field Day Planner Plans Field Day for students. Coordinates the activities associated with Field day including activities and food. Works field day at the school with other volunteers. Time commitment: 15 hThis position requires an investment of 15 hours in May including a full day at school for the event.

Kindergarten Open House Plans and coordinates a special welcome/tours of facilities for incoming kindergarteners as part of the August Open House to kick off the school year. Includes organizing tables for Market Day, Spiritwear, etc and refreshments for after the Open House ceremony. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 20 hours prior to the start of the school year including managing events at the open house and coordinating other volunteers.

 

Ky Kids Days Kentucky PTA Kids' Day was established in 1985 to set aside one day just for our students. This day is typical in September and the coordinator will plan activities/recognition for students Time commitment: This requires planning of a 1 time activity and 5-10 hours in September.

 

Market Day Works with VP- Ways and Means to plan Market Day budgets. Works with Market Day organization to solicit and fulfill sales monthly. Tracks receipts from Market day and works with Treasurer to deposit funds. (requires some volunteers to help in distribution of product.) Time commitment: This position requires a time investment of 5 hours per month

 

Membership Oversees the annual membership drive (typically through January), collects PTA dues, works with the Treasurer to deposit dues and forward appropriate amounts to district, state and National PTA organizations. Maintains the Membership list. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 2 hours per month August through January.


Reflections Art Contest Coordinates the advertisement, participation, and submission of entries for the Reflections art contest for The school. This includes local activities and coordinating with District and State activities. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 10-15 hours planning activities in December/January.


Spirit Wear Choose Spiritwear products to sell in support of school spirit. Orders, manages inventory, and sells merchandise at school events such as Open House and Fall Festival. Time commitment: This position requires an investment 1 hour per month plus school events.

 

Student Directory Large time commitment at the beginning of the year. Requires the organization of information from the parents into the directory which is printed and distributed in October. Knowledge of MS Word, Publisher, Excel, and/or Access a plus. Time commitment: This position requires an investment 10 -15 hours in September.


Teacher Appreciation Week Coordinates staff appreciation lunches and volunteers throughout the year. Time commitment: This position requires an investment 1-2 hours per month.

 

Volunteer Coordinator Chair sends out flyers early in the year asking for volunteers for all the projects for the year. This information is prepared by the Chair into a list for each committee chair person. Time commitment: This position requires an investment of 5-10 hours in August recruiting volunteers. Several hours for each major event coordinating volunteer staffing.

 

Ways & Means/Fundraising Oversee and coordinate fundraising events for the school. Manages coordination of activities such as Skyline Nights, Peelers, Skating Parties, etc. Works with and supports Committee Chairpersons for larger fundraising events such as Fall Festival and Market Day. Time commitment: Year round fundraising activities. Planning activities early in the year. Peelers traditionally occur in November. Can share duties with volunteers.
